The Site

The architectural form of the new buildings is of its time, and does not aim to imitate the Maclure structure with a historical aesthetic. However, the materiality of the townhomes was carefully selected to complement and respect that of the original heritage manor. This includes a stone base to reflect that of the manor, a black box framing the upper storeys, and a white panel cladding system with black grid lines.
To complement, not imitate.
Among the Garry Oaks
The stunning natural environment within which the homes are situated provided inspiration for the design of the interior spaces of the townhomes. Taking cues from the texture, pattern and organic lines of the site’s many garry oak trees, as well as the signs of the four seasons so visible from each window’s outlook, the interior world of Edwin Oaks is rooted in nature: subdued earthy tones and textures create a materials and finishes palette that is both timeless and calming.
